Web design should stay web design

Dear web designers & friends.

I don`t know what you think that web design is or should be, but I think web design is to create a web site or a web template.

That`s the same what wikipedia says "The intent of web design is to create a web site" - [link]

All the more it makes me very angry to see more and more BULLSHIT at the web interfaces category.

Take a look at this:

Anime?! -> [link]

Wallpapers?! -> [link]

Screenshots of errors?! -> [link]

...and more bullshit.


Why the hell do stupid kids upload their anime, wallpaper, photo manipulation...etc at the web interface category?!. Just to get seen? Isn´t that cheap?

As a honest web designer and one of alexiuss -> [link] doom bringers I must stop that!


So join me on my way to justice!

-) Give comments like "this is not web design" to this fake web interface works!

-) Sign this journal with "web design should stay web design" at the comments! So we can show DA to look more at the categories and to keep them clear from work which shouldn't´t be in there.

-) Tell other people/web designers about this!

I've spent several hours at once reporting miscats before - looks like I'll be doing it again. ~sigh~

I agree that people should be more careful with catting, it can be annoying.

But i do think that, despite their intentions it doesn't harm to be polite in how you tell them. There is no harm in stating they have placed it in the wrong cat and request they change it, if not to make things easier, but to prevent DA following it up and them getting in trouble. They may not have placed it there to get more views.

Im just saying because i did see a comment you left and it wasn't exacly very community spiritied.

I don't know if they posted the things there to be seen but perhaps you could take into account that you stumbled upon 3 deviations placed into the wrong category. Not everyone knows about this new system, so it could have been an actual accident. There are other categories that are filled with images that don't belong there as well. Perhaps expanding your cause for a way to report images in the wrong category would be better?

i know i know...but like i said: it makes me REALLY ANGRY.

it`s unfair for good web designers. it`s hard to get 50 :+fav: for a web designer, but damn easy to get 50 favs on a "bad" anime artwork.

and if this anime artwork is posted at the web interfaces it will be on the frontpage.

so some designers will never get their chance to be on the web interfaces frontpage. you will find them some pages behind. and that sucks.

Yes, reporting takes time. But you browse the web design category, correct? If a system were implemented throughout dA then people who spend their time browsing a certain category could click the "report miscat." button or whatever it would say. After all, don't the gallery admins already relocate images in the wrong area?
